Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
Tokyo has had a café serving carefully brewed coffee for over a century in a small alleyway. This coffee shop offers its customers a truly unique experience: a trip into the past.
At the café in Before the Coffee Gets Cold, we meet four visitors who want to take advantage of the café's time-traveling offer and confront the man who left them, receive a letter from their husband, whose memory has been taken away by Alzheimer's, meet their sister one last time, and meet their daughter.
However, the journey into the past comes with risks: customers have to sit in a particular spot, they cannot leave the café, and they must return to the present before the coffee gets cold. . . . .
Toshikazu Kawaguchi’s beautiful, the moving story explores the age-old question: what would you change if you could travel back in time? More importantly, who would you want to meet, maybe for one last time?
