This book centers around Ronan, and his complicated past, as well as a strange gift he possesses: the ability to pull tangible objects from his dreams. The name for the individual with this ability is the Greywaren. Ronan’s father was a grey warden, and it was how he made his living. It was also the cause of his death. Now Ronan, grappling with this new discovery, must navigate the strange literal forest of the unconscious, the conscious, and dreams (with the help of Gansey, Blue, and most, Adam). Ronan is also dealing with the world’s best hitman, out-of-control Kavinsky, and his bothersome brother Declan, plus the search for Glendower on top of all this. Actually, the whole gang’s got issues in this book: Blue is trying to understand her feelings for Gansey, Noah is attempting to stay present, and Adam is learning firsthand what exactly making a bargain with a magical forest means
